Vintage 50s SCHREINER Frosted Art Glass Bracelet Earring Set

Spectacular detail and coloration typical of SCHREINER creations.  Peaked, square, frosted gray satin glass cabochons are the focus of the bracelet; there are prong set frosted satin round cabs; point up unfoiled clears and regular foiled rhinestones – all prong set in a lightly burnished gold tone plated metal – some with four prongs, others with eight prongs.

The matching earrings have matching round stones exactly like the bracelet except no square cabs which is also a typical design element of SCHREINER – there were probably a different style of earrings that did have those square cabs, and there was probably a bracelet that didn’t have them.  A coordinated line of jewelry often had different versions with stones in common so customers could choose from variations while still fashionably working together.

The matching earrings are 1 ½” x 1 ¼”; have the rhinestone structure supported by wires which gives them depth of design and allows for some customization; equipped with the donut hole clips.  The bracelet is 7 ¼” x 1 ¼”; equipped with a push-in clasp and a safety chain; is signed SCHREINER NEW YORK on an applied oval plaque.  No missing stones, the set is in excellent condition.

Only the bracelet is signed – making a case for not breaking up sets, but either would be recognizable as SCHREINER even if they weren’t signed.  The various design and stone elements are depicted in the book, “SCHREINER” by Tanenbaum/Townsend – pages 148-149 most specifically.
