Pueblo Pot Bracelet Cuff

$399.00

Authentic Native American painted pot embellished with vintage costume jewelry.

I especially like the edging made of tiny dyed shell discs.

Like all my jewelry, this pueblo pot bracelet was built by hand and is one of a kind! For instance, the authentic pottery and vintage jewelry parts make a beautiful mix of color and culture.  Moreover, this piece is perfect for any event and is a sure conversation starter.

The history of the Pueblo Peoples is so interesting!    There are 23 Indian tribes in New Mexico. The 19 Pueblos are spread throughout the state.  Each tribe is its own nation and each is worth a visit.  Each one has its own government, life-ways, and culture. All welcome visitors, but please make sure to check ahead of your visit as some pueblos close for cultural events. Finally, here is a link with short bios of the tribes:  https://www.newmexico.org/places-to-visit/native-culture/pueblos-tribes-nations/

The pottery of Native Americans is very unique.  The most common
usually feature black or black-and-red natural and patterns.  These are painted on a white or cream background.

The art of pottery making has remained an active tradition at most of these Indian pueblos.  However, the Laguna and Santa Ana Native Americans, the art nearly died out in the 1940s. Also, in the San Felipe Indian Pueblo, the art of ceramic making has been rare since about 1700.
