Dragon Ware Art Couture Cuff Jewelry
I like things that move and dangle, so you will find something that does that on nearly every piece I create, but on this cuff there are three! One is a pearl chain that used to be an earring from the 1950s, another is a smoky gray topaz earring, and my favorite item on this piece is the carved and inlaid abalone shell medallion that depicts birds in the sky over mountains and land or water expanse.
Notice: While the piece usually tells me when it’s done, occasionally later, I find something that “just needs to go in that spot” to enhance it after photographing – don’t be surprised if it’s even better than pictured because in this case, I added 17 pieces!

In the construction process I use tiny glass beads to make a paste called caviar to hide any glue, brass plate, and in general enhance and strengthen the piece - on this piece, I used black, silver and gold caviar (whereas I usually only use one color!) Caviar paste is something that takes extra time, and materials, but is the difference between the ordinary and exceptional attention to detailing.
This Statement piece is built on 2” wide brass cuff; and rises approximately 1.75” making the overall, stand-alone 3.75” height and 2 ¼” from edge-to-edge at the center top design of the cuff. It will slide down towards the hand on the 7” wrist to make it stable and wearable, but without adjustment it fits the 7”- 8” wrist. Or, certainly will grace any table top, or counter.
