Ash Turtle Story Cuff
$225.00
This little turtle is made of Mt. St. Helens ash… because he didn’t move fast enough!
He sits atop 2” brass cuff covered with a vintage belt. There are vintage milk glass flowers, a marble, old glass buttons.
Today, a lot of people sport chains, so Mr. Turtle has silver chain embedded around the plates of his shell terminating in a oval “mood” stone (remember those from the 70s?)
(thank you to Sydni Griffin for modeling)
Mount St. Helens blew it’s top in a spectacular way back in May of 1980. Afterwards, there were ash stories from every direction and town in Washington State. And, there was an ABUNDANCE of ash, so artists used it as material for a myriad of products from glass to pottery. This turtle story cuff was made from the ashes of that volcano.

Note: I construct the bottom edges of the cuff to be flat so that the piece will stand alone, and if worn while writing or key boarding it will not bang on things.
